I support the Motor Vehicle Owners Right-to-Repair Act because:
My car belongs to me, not the car company or the car dealer.
I have the right to have it to have it repaired where I choose.
More than half of the AAA-approved repair shops in the United States are independent repair shops.
AAA is a strong supporter of the Right-to-Repair Act
Vehicle repairs for parts and labor averaged 34.3 percent more at new car dealerships than at independent repair shops.
Foreign nameplate repairs for parts and labor averaged 36.8 percent more at car dealerships than at independent repair shops.
Independent repair shops are often closer and more convenient for maintenance and repair work on my vehicle.
Having as many repair options as possible is important to my personal safety and independence, as well as saving me money.
About 2,500 new car dealers are expected to close this year roughly seven each day!
Forcing anyone to suffer a car company/car dealer monopoly on car repairs is wrong especially for older Americans!
I support the Motor Vehicle Owners Right to Repair Act at both the state and federal level, and I urge you to vote for it and support its passage into law -- as soon as possible!
Respectfully signed by these concerned citizens.
