RetireSafe's Petition for an Accurate Seniors' Social Security Cost of Living Allowance (COLA-S)

We, the undersigned, demand legislation to change the way Social Security Cost of Living Allowances (COLAs) are calculated:

(1) We demand that a “Senior’s Consumer Price Index” – CPI-S – should reflect what seniors actually spend money on, which is very different than what younger people spend money on (for example, health care).

(2) We demand that the CPI-S be adjusted regularly to account for changes in the way seniors spend their money over time.

(3) We demand that the Social Security payments be adjusted annually so that they reflect this new CPI-S.
